Community profiles written for the person reading them

A site selector reads for labor and infrastructure. A reporter reads for what is changing. Civitas researches your town as it writes and structures the profile around the reader you pick, with every figure cited.

The problem

Most community profiles are written once, for no one in particular, and open with a sentence about charm. The reader who matters skims past it looking for the one number they came for. Rewriting it for each audience is the right move, and almost nobody has the hours.

What you answer

  • Who is reading this?
  • What do you want them to do after reading it?
  • Anything they have specifically asked about?
  • What do you want to make sure gets mentioned?
  • How long should it be?

What you get

  • Current figures pulled while it writes, each cited with publisher and year
  • A structure built for your reader
  • One honest line on anything unflattering the reader will find anyway
  • A Sources section
  • A list flagging any figure that is old or hard to verify
Sample output

Fair Haven, Georgia is a fictional town used for examples.

Fair Haven, Georgia community profile, prepared for a site selector

Fair Haven sits at the intersection of two state routes, forty minutes from a regional airport. Manufacturing remains the largest private employer base, with 2,310 jobs across 34 firms. [1] Two industrial sites totaling 47 acres are shovel-ready with municipal water and three-phase power. [2]

Who it is for

Chambers that double as the economic development office, or work alongside one, and field requests from site selectors, brokers, reporters and grant reviewers.

Questions

Where does the data come from?

Public sources found during the run, with official sources preferred: the Census Bureau, state labor departments, county development authorities and school districts. Each figure carries its source and year.

What if a figure cannot be found?

It writes [not available] instead of estimating and lists it for you to check.

Can I reuse one profile for a different reader?

Ask it to rewrite for another reader in the same conversation. It restructures the profile using the research it already did.
